Tried…not true

For the most part I am willing to try different hair products, within reason. If my early years of my natural journey I was a zealous product junkie and tried it ALL, below are a couple products I tried and didn’t like for many reasons.

1️⃣Multi-Vitamin Scalp Nourishing Growth Oil

Time used: 4 weeks

Primary use: scalp

I received this from a friend, otherwise I wouldn’t try it because it’s $12 and for that amount I can get 2 or 3 carrier oils. One word for this product: LAME! Save your money and make your own oil mix.

2️⃣Bragg Organic Apple Cider Vinegar

Time used: 1 year

Primary use: scalp cleanser

ACV was too acidic for my scalp and made retaining moisture more difficult.

3️⃣Organic Valley Purity Farms Ghee

Time used: 3 weeks

Primary use: seal in moisture

I had read about Ethiopians using this for hair growth, so I decided to try. This product is good for detangling since it’s a butter, but I attempted to use it to seal in moisture and it’s not thick enough for that.

4️⃣Wheat Protein, Hydrolyzed

Time used: 4 weeks

Primary use: deep condition

Since my hair HATES protein in any form, I wanted to try this as its protein molecues are small enough to penetrate scalp. Oddly enough, I didn’t see any major change (good or bad) using this product so I decided not to spend money on it.

  1. I just cut my hair in November and I’m already tired of all the stress oh! I miss my relaxer days and I have been sorely tempted to relax or texturize but so far I haven’t. I have settled for coloring though and maybe a new cut??? Thanks for sharing😊
